The boys basketball season kicks off the playoff season with the District 11 tournament beginning on Thursday.
Last week was also a busy week for me as I covered an inter-county clash between Bottineau and Westhope-Newburg on Tuesday, a college basketball double-header on Thursday, a narrow 5-4 Bottineau-Rugby win at the rink on Friday and both 19U and DCB hockey games on Saturday.
On the DCB hockey front the Jacks lost to Williston State for the third time in a five-game-series, which eliminates them from the National Tournament for the first time since 2005-06. It will be only the third time since 2000 that the Jacks won't be at the National tournament.
This week I will be (hopefully) going fishing several times on area lakes. Haven't been getting too many fish this year, but it's still pretty fun to get out there (though hand drilling holes in 3-feet of ice isn't).
I also have the privelge to see what could be an epic battle for first place on Friday when the Braves take on Bismarck Century in hockey.
I came up way wrong in my Super Bowl prediction. I think its time for a break from football and focus on the NBA, go Bulls.
A huge batch of pictures this week, as I was really busy:
