Fall sports underway

Labor day weekend was a nice little break before the fall action really starts, but the previous week was chock full of volleyball.

I jaunted to both the Bottineau and Dakota College games at home last week.

This week I have Newburg and again DCB Volleyball to cover and possibly a little football, we shall see.

I will be putting my picks for the week for the NFL on Thurs. Until then, here are some photos from volleyball last week:

Dakota College at Bottineau freshman Courtney Hart serves during the third game last Wednesday against Bismarck State.

Sophomore Kelsey Gullett (right) watches as freshman Jordyn Sondrol digs out a Mystics shot in Bottineau last Wednesday.Jerry Millican is far right as line judge.

Sophomore Jess Mehling serves last Wednesday.

Freshman Jackie Miller from Mohall digs out a shot.

Gullett avoids Sondrol as she digs out another Mystics shot in the third game last Wednesday.

Freshman Josie Degagne shows maximum effort in going for a wayward ball.

Freshman Hannah Sabe sets the ball.

BHS senior setter Ashleigh Aufforth sets up a teammate last Thursday in Bottineau.

Senior Whitney Page slams home one of 15 kills on the night.

Page challenges a Mustang defender in Bottineau last Thursday.

Again Page wins the battle with the Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood defender.

Page likely hurt the Mustang defenders hand after that kill.

Stars senior Mikayla Hahn digs out a shot.

Senior Trista Bjerk prepares to bump a serve.
