The Race is On

This week I chose "The Race is On" by Sawyer Brown. Aside from being one of my favorite songs growing up, spring sports are also in full stride. Track, baseball, softball and most importantly golf are in the full swing of things for this spring season. The weather has finally been cooperating. And the race of covering all these things is definitely "on."

This past week I was able to attend a Bottineau High baseball game, as well as Dakota College at Bottineau baseball and softball games.

The upcoming week I will be (weather permitting) attending a Bottineau High baseball game and taking the girls golf team to Garrison in both a coaching capacity and a coverage capacity.

Here are my pictures for the week:

Bottineau eighth grader Luke Amsbaugh flips it to second base last Thursday against Rolette-Rolla.

Braves junior Matt Bowers braces to be hit by a pitch last Thursday in Bottineau.

Amsbaugh just misses a pitch late in the game Thursday.

Dakota College at Bottineau freshman Zach McBeain attempts a bunt in the Jacks game against Bismarck State last Saturday.

Jacks pitcher Hayden Johnson strides towards home in a game against the Mystics in Bottineau last Saturday.

Jacks shortstop Cody Benson makes a sensational stop in the hole.

Drew Haight awaits a throw in an attempt to tag out a mystics runner.

Jacks pitcher Tawnya Tychinski releases a pitch in a game against the North Dakota State College of Science last Saturday.

Ladyjacks sophomore Jen Theissen about to connect with a pitch last Saturday at Tommy Turtle Park in Bottineau.

Ladyjacks freshman Jess Mehling about to rap a base hit in Saturday's game against the Wildcats.

DCB freshman Maria Espindola swings at a pitch in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday.

Ladyjacks outfielder Destiny Kaus rounds first after hitting a single last Saturday.

Thiessen and Espindola are unable to catch a bloop.
