Cried

Season 12 American Idol winner Candice Glover's track off her debut album "Music Speaks," the song "Cried," describes some of the emotions that many teams have at this time of the year--playoff time.

This past week the season ended for Bottineau-Rugby hockey, Westhope-Newburg and Bottineau boy's basketball and Dakota College at Bottineau hockey. They all fell in postseason tournaments or series in the past week or so.

This week the prep girls both hockey and basketball, and the DCB basketball teams close out their regular season and then move on to try their luck in the playoffs.

I have 25 pictures to share from the past week. Enjoy and follow on twitter @typhoonater467.

I also have some pictures from the Feb. 9 ski race held at the Bottineau Winter Park.

Camille Deschamp skates around the corner.

Unfortunately, I didn't catch all the names of the skiers. This is one from the BWP team though.

This could totally be an ad picture or poster or something. That's Annie's House on the top of the hill.

Another of BWP's skiers heads for the finish line.

Sophomore Lucas Lindholm fires a shot at the Williston State net last Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Cory Fehringer lights lamp as he gets it past Dano Fagerlund in the second "Slapshot Regatta." The two basketball coaches faced off on the ice. Fagerlund came back and won though, stopping three of five shots from Fehringer.

The goal from Fehringer.

Ethan Hicks dumps the puck into the corner.

Goalie Ryan Miner deflects a Tetons shot.

Brett Hebel had to be restrained after the game against the rival Tetons.

How this WSC player's glove got stuck up there I do not know.

Here is Mr. Gloveless against Casey Barile.

Luke Bacon tries to block Chance Kitzman in the opening round of the district tournament last Thursday.

Sophomore Parker Engelhard is fouled on his way up to the hoop on a breakaway.

Senior Philip Neubauer secures a loose ball in last Friday's upset of Velva.

Ethan Kerslake tries to get a loose ball.

Engelhard makes a tough save.

Senior Nigel Hageness goes to celebrate after a first-period goal from Cody Bedlion (left) last Saturday against Mandan.

Hageness reaches and deflects a puck.

Bottineau-Rugby senior goaltender Riley Monson about to make a nice glove save.

A pad save, and it's a beauty.

Harrison Aide slides into a loose puck.

Dakota College at Bottineau's Matt Mehlhaff gets the puck past a Williston defender last Tuesday.

Fagerlund celebrates after winning his second straight slapshot regatta.
